Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of MyChurchSGO (“the platform”), operated by The SGO Company, LLC, a service for Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs), their donors, and scholarship applicants. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Applicants who are minors must be represented by a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on the minor’s behalf.

Accounts

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. Organizations are responsible for the actions of the users they invite.

Donations and receipts

Donations are processed through our third-party payment processor and are subject to its terms. We issue receipts and, where applicable, §25F tax-credit documentation based on the information recorded on the platform. You are responsible for consulting your own tax advisor regarding any tax treatment; we do not provide tax advice.

Scholarship applications

Submitting an application does not guarantee an award. SGOs determine eligibility and selection under applicable program rules. You agree to provide accurate, complete information and to submit only documents you are authorized to share.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: submit fraudulent applications or donations; impersonate another person or organization; misuse or misrepresent compliance reports; upload unlawful or malicious content; or attempt to bypass our security controls. Violations may result in account suspension and, where required, reporting to applicable authorities.

Compliance & accuracy

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit. The platform records and reports financial and eligibility activity under §25F federal program rules, and certain records are retained and kept immutable as required by law.

Intellectual property

The platform, its software, and its content (excluding content you submit) are owned by us or our licensors. You retain ownership of the content you submit and grant us the limited rights needed to operate the service and meet our legal obligations.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Termination

You may stop using the platform at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or as required by law. Certain compliance records are retained after termination as described in our Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the platform operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Changes

We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will communicate material changes to registered users by email and post the updated “Last updated” date.
