What is a Scholarship Granting Organization?
A Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) is a nonprofit organization that has received special authorization to accept Federal Scholarship Tax Credit (FSTC) eligible donations. The SGO then uses FSTC eligible donations to give scholarships to K-12 students. Churches can establish SGOs to help families in their community access quality education while providing donors with tax benefits.

What's included in your SGO platform
Give cash, claim a federal tax credit
Cash gifts to Church SGO managed scholarship funds can qualify for a federal tax credit — up to $1,700 a year — for contributions made starting in tax year 2027, if this SGO is on a participating State's list.
Federal Tax Credit
Cash gifts only. Credited contributions can't also be deducted, and the credit is reduced by any state credit for the same gift. It's nonrefundable, but unused amounts carry forward for up to five years. This is general information, not tax advice.
Direct Impact
Your donation supports student scholarships, with transparent tracking.
Flexible Giving
Choose one-time or recurring donations, and specify which types of students to support.
